Gala Tech Partner With Retail Merchant Services
On July 23, 2020 by Morthe StandardA crisis may not sound like the right time to do M&As but some firms are sealing deals amid all the turmoil.
Recently Gala Technology announced a partnership with card payment company, Retail Merchant Services (RMS) to help protect customers (of the latter) from CNP or Card-Not-Present related fraud.
Retail merchant services will roll out a Gala-powered eRMS+ platform to enable the processing of safe and PCI DSS acquiescent payments through multiple channels.
When the platform goes live, merchants will be able to accept CNP payments via e-commerce, telephone, SMS, web-chat, and social media, without the worry of fraudulent chargebacks. This will further cut down the cost of processing merchant transactions.
RMs has a business model that allows it to integrate new tech and services for merchants in a short time. The newly launched eRMS+ is a case in point. Customer needs and priorities are changing faster than before, and incorporating ground-breaking products into what we already have is crucial in ensuring unswerving merchant support and extended payment security for their clients,” said Stephen Wells, an executive at Retail Merchant Services.
In a bid to prove the platform’s capability, Gala Technology recently processed safe and PCI DSS acquiescent transactions through multiple video-conference tools such as Zoom, Webex and Microsoft Teams
Sources have also leaked that Gala’s SOTpay was picked by Ciptex Ltd, a communications firm, specifically to help enable secure and acquiescent payment system, and augment its contact center (known as RACE).
“Fraud remains a headache for many small, medium and large brands alike, with number of attempts hitting a record high last year (2019). This brought about losses worth over £620 million in the United Kingdom alone,” said Steven Jones, an executive at Gala Technology.
Whispers in the world of payments predict that these fraud rates will likely increase as retailers and merchants struggle to run businesses in new unusual environment thanks to Coronavirus.
“We are therefore excited to partner with RMS in a bid to provide their merchants with a platform that powers them to process safe, authentic, and PCI DSS acquiescent transactions while shielding them from fraudulent chargebacks even as they work from home”
